This month the island adventure group will be headed out to the far west end of the island to Kaena Point State Park which is home to a nesting ground for the Laysan Albatross. It is an approximately 5 mile round trip hike over even terrain with beautiful views of the ocean (and hopefully some humpback whales!). The sanctuary is at the end of the trail. Often monk seals can also be seen at the sanctuary among the rocks. Bring water as the trail is usually sunny and hot.
We will meet at last beach bathrooms on the right side of the road at 9:00, then drive to the trailhead at the end of the road.
