I'm excited to be this year's group leader for Fisher House meals. This is a fun opportunity to use your cooking and baking talents to help patients and their families staying at the Tripler Army Medical Center Fisher House.
PHOSC members volunteer to bring in dinner the 3rd Monday during the months of September through May. A highlight of our volunteer effort each year is to also supply their Thanksgiving feast.
Each month, I will have signups via the SignUpGenis website. If you are interested in volunteering for September’s meal, please follow the link below:
You can participate as frequently as your calendar permits. If you decide to volunteer for a space, you are only responsible for that block. If you would like to bring more (double or triple your recipe), leftovers are never a bad thing! Please bring your portion of the meal to the Fisher House your are volunteering for and sign in on their volunteer form.
When you volunteer, the Fisher House requests that your meal donations are dropped off by 5pm, as that is about the time their families eat dinner. If you would like to volunteer, but can't drop off, you can always drop your food off with me in McGrew Point, either Sunday after 4pm, or Monday between 10am-noon, and I will get
it to the proper Fisher House.
Lastly, I know several of you have teenagers that need volunteer hours. If they enjoy cooking or baking, I will happily sign off on any paper for their of volunteer time.
I hope you all are blessed with much happiness as you brighten the lives of others.
